The foundation aims to promote and support, in an exclusively non-profit and disinterested manner, both domestically and abroad, individuals researching or active in Switzerland in the fields of energy, new technologies, computer science, general infrastructure, and environmental protection. To achieve these goals, grants can also be awarded to Swiss universities and universities of applied sciences, as well as to organizations and institutions closely affiliated with them. The foundation also promotes scientific collaboration between Swiss universities and universities of applied sciences and their foreign counterparts. In these areas, symposia, conferences, professorships, scientific reports, and other activities can be supported, and awards and prizes can be granted with financial contributions. Grants can also be awarded to institutions of a social and cultural nature, or directly to individuals, for the purpose of promoting social and/or cultural projects and activities, as well as to support individuals or families in financial need.
