The purpose of the foundation is to support individuals, usually residing in Switzerland, who have fallen into an unprovoked state of distress and do not receive sufficient assistance from the state, insurers, or other institutions and aid organizations to alleviate their distress. The foundation may provide one-time or recurring contributions to living expenses, medical treatments, coaching and counseling, and other measures to immediately or indirectly alleviate the distress. In addition to this purpose, the foundation may also be active in the field of animal and environmental protection and support individual measures or projects. The foundation is not politically active. The foundation may collaborate with other institutions and aid organizations. The foundation may operate domestically and internationally (developing countries) and acquire the necessary resources for this purpose. The foundation is authorized to acquire real estate, take out loans, and make capital investments. The details are governed by a set of regulations. The foundation does not pursue any commercial purpose and does not strive for profit.
