The purpose of the foundation is to support and promote individuals, institutions, and projects in Switzerland and abroad that are engaged in activities that are beneficial to the public, health-promoting, quality-of-life-enhancing, educational, research-oriented, scientific, sustainability-promoting, animal welfare-promoting, socio-political, cultural, charitable, or humanitarian. This includes both the allocation of funds to external projects and initiatives and the development and implementation of the foundation's own programs and projects in these areas. To achieve its non-profit purpose, the foundation intends to: provide financial support and promotion for research and practical application projects in various scientific disciplines, including natural sciences, engineering sciences, medicine, social sciences, and humanities; provide financial support and promotion for its own and external projects and programs that deal with the topics mentioned in the purpose and scientific disciplines, through donations or à fonds perdu contributions to charitable institutions, research groups, and others, as well as through entrepreneurial funding models (e.g. impact investments) in areas that profit-oriented third parties would not invest in; provide financial support and promotion for projects and programs that make a sustainable contribution to solving societal challenges and have the potential to generate new scientific knowledge and innovations; with a focus on the following topics: research and science; physical, mental health, and longevity; nature conservation and climate change mitigation. The foundation board can set priorities for the pursuit of its purpose and decide freely on the allocation of foundation funds and distributions. There is no legal entitlement to foundation benefits, nor can a corresponding legal entitlement be derived from receiving foundation benefits. The foundation can also cooperate with other organizations to fulfill its tasks and promote them. The foundation can operate both in Switzerland and abroad to fulfill its purpose and promote projects. To fulfill its purpose, it can establish companies in Switzerland and abroad. The foundation has no profit-making purpose and does not strive for profit.
