The purpose of the association is to support the Obol collective and decentralized and open source protocols and projects in the field of distributed software, in particular consensus systems, threshold signature schemes and blockchains, as well as the acquisition, management and sale of industrial property rights, know-how and intellectual property rights and the provision of corresponding services. The association may conduct all business and conclude contracts of any kind that are suitable for promoting the purpose of the association or that are directly or indirectly related to this purpose. The association is authorized to establish branches and subsidiaries in Switzerland and abroad, take over representations, cooperate with other organizations or join them and participate in community-oriented activities that promote the same or similar interests. For this purpose, the association may support and finance suitable research and development activities and projects, promote and educate the public regarding new technologies, issue, receive, consume and hold virtual currencies and tokens, raise funds and finance internal and external resources, organize conferences and other events, and generally take all actions necessary, appropriate, required or desirable to achieve or promote the goals described herein. The association may cooperate with other organizations or join them and participate in community-led activities that promote the same or similar interests. The association does not pursue any profit or self-help purposes and is not profit-oriented.
