to actively participate in the establishment of a genuine democracy, the reconstruction of national unity, and the fight against all forms of discrimination and exclusion in general, and against women in particular; to closely collaborate with other Rwandan women's associations, both within and outside the country, as well as with other international women's organizations; to promote Rwandan culture and develop cultural exchanges with other communities in order to mutually enrich each other; to actively work towards the necessary reform of the Rwandan legal system, particularly with regard to the status of women and children; to constantly listen to the problems of our country in order to provide the most appropriate response; to defend the interests of the victims of the systematic genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi population, and the victims of the methodical extermination committed against opponents of the former MRND regime and President Habyarimana.
