The company's purpose is to own and operate cable transportation facilities located in the canton of Valais and subject to federal concessions or cantonal authorizations for passenger transport. It does not have public utility status, but it performs a public task by providing its services to passengers in accordance with the Federal Passenger Transport Act (LTV), i.e. regular and professional passenger transport.
