The foundation aims to operate a retirement community based on social principles with affordable housing at Engelgasse 61 in Basel. It also enables the regular church services of the Stiftung Kapelle an der Engelgasse and the Münstergemeinde of the Evangelical Reformed Church of the Canton of Basel-Stadt, as well as other events of this parish, to be held in its premises. To this end, it uses the independent and permanent building right (building right parcel 5/2573) granted to it by the Stiftung Kapelle an der Engelgasse (ecclesiastical foundation of the Evangelical Reformed Church of the Canton of Basel-Stadt) on parcel 5/823, Engelgasse 61. The foundation board may, in addition to and within the framework of this foundation purpose, establish regulations on rent levels and guidelines for the allocation of apartments. The foundation does not aim to make a profit. Income from the rental of the retirement apartments and ancillary rooms is to be used exclusively to ensure affordable rents for the retirement apartments and to maintain the buildings (including the necessary interest and amortization of mortgage debts).
