The purpose of the foundation is, on the one hand, to protect nature and the climate in every respect. On the other hand, the foundation can support people with disabilities. The foundation can also support projects in the medical field, in particular research projects. The foundation promotes, in particular in the aforementioned areas, good education of the population and can develop or support all projects in the field of education and training. The details on how to achieve the purpose are regulated by the foundation board in a regulation. The foundation supports projects, especially also in the Basel region. It has a non-profit character and does not pursue any commercial purpose.
