to promote environmental justice and the rule of law; to provide research, analysis and publications on environmental litigation, environmental dispute resolution, judicial practices and procedures, court administration, claims and lawsuits, judicial remedies and environmental and climate justice, including access to environmental information, public participation in environmental decision-making and access to justice; to strengthen the capacity of judges, courts and tribunals in the administration and resolution of environmental cases and disputes; to bring together international, regional, national and subnational judges, courts, tribunals and court officials and judicial training institutions to create partnerships for collaboration, sharing of best judicial practices and exchange of information on environmental law issues; to pursue other objectives compatible with the mission and charter of the GIJE. The association is non-profit.
