The Association aims to:
a) Preserve, promote, and organize hunting with scenthounds.
b) Breed purebred dogs ensuring the cynological and hunting qualities, primarily of the Erdélyi Kopó (Transylvanian Scenthound - Standard No. 241) but also similar breeds, including:
- Black and Tan Coonhound - FCI Standard 63
- Styrian Coarse-haired Hound - FCI Standard 62
- Tyrolean Hound - FCI Standard 68
- Bosnian Rough-coated Scenthound "Barak" - FCI Standard 155
- Istrian Smooth-haired Scenthound - FCI Standard 151
- Istrian Rough-haired Scenthound - FCI Standard 152
- Sava Valley Hound - FCI Standard 154
- Montenegrin Mountain Hound - FCI Standard 279
- Serbian Hound - FCI Standard 150
- Serbian Tricolour Hound - FCI Standard 229
- Slovakian Hound - FCI Standard 244
- Polish Hound - FCI Standard 52
- Polish Scenthound - FCI Standard 354
Based on the standards registered with the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI).
c) Encourage hunting aptitudes and performances in accordance with legal provisions on ownership and hunting, as well as breeding and selection regulations.
d) Organize activities related to dog education, hunting, hunting trials, competitions, and exhibitions for scenthound breeds and similar breeds.
e) Disseminate information and knowledge related to the breeding, acquisition, ownership, care, education, and training of scenthounds, based on knowledge of hunting and dog breeding, in the spirit of hunting ethics and in accordance with animal protection principles.
f) Exchange experiences, foster friendly relations among members, and develop a sense of community.
g) Establish contacts with clubs dealing with similar varieties and breeds.
h) Represent the interests of the association to authorities and hunting associations.
The association strives to fulfill the tasks set, particularly by:
a) Organizing training courses, judge training for shows and work, and promoting the exchange of experiences.
b) Ensuring compliance with guidelines and regulations regarding the standard, breeding, and competition rules, and sanctioning any violations thereof.
c) Providing advice on the purchase of scenthounds.
d) Managing an information and placement center.
e) Organizing and promoting domestic and international exhibitions with the awarding of CAC, CACIB, and work trials with the awarding of CACT, CACIT.
f) Organizing admission tests (aptitude tests) for breeding in Switzerland and Hungary.
g) Supporting exhibitions, work trials, competitions, and hunting by awarding honorary prizes and challenges, or providing financial support.
