The association refers to liberal and reformist criteria and, with a secular approach, to Christian roots, also paying attention to the social doctrine of the Church in social matters. It supports the free market. It recognizes the State's task of setting the fundamental rules, in order to protect general collective interests and stimulate development in harmony with the environment. It works to create wealth and practice redistribution, among other things, by providing quality public services accessible to all. It highlights the private initiative's ability to enhance the original contribution of women and men in an innovative context based on training, research, commitment, and fair profit. Only the correct use of public money avoids excessive tax pressure taking away income from individuals, families, and hindering economic development. It promotes participation in political, cultural, and social life through debates, meetings, cultural events, and other activities in accordance with the association's purposes and principles. It participates in the good relations between Switzerland and Italy, particularly between the Canton and Republic of Ticino and the neighboring Italian Regions, Provinces, and Municipalities. It is a tool for civil confrontation of ideas. It expresses itself on social and political issues. It takes a stand in support of candidatures and political expressions on the occasion of elections in Italy and Switzerland, with the intention of favoring the relations mentioned above. Within the scope of the election of the Italian Chamber and Senate, it commits itself to the success of candidates residing in Switzerland who recognize themselves in the association, both in the scope of the Italian Chamber and Senate and in the scope of Swiss Federal, Cantonal, and Communal elections.
