The cooperative aims to provide its members with affordable housing and permanently remove it from speculation. The cooperative builds, rents and sells affordable housing primarily to its members. To this end, it can acquire, encumber and sell plots of land, properties, building rights and condominium ownership shares. When selling real estate, the cooperative ensures that the buyers cannot engage in speculative transactions. To this end, it can reserve pre-emption, purchase and co-determination rights. It seeks to achieve this purpose through: a) The cooperative maintains its buildings in good structural condition and renovates them periodically. b) Construction of replacement new buildings when the existing buildings can no longer be renovated in an economically justifiable manner. c) Management and rental of apartments on a cost-rent basis. d) Creation of apartments and single-family homes for sale in condominium ownership or building rights. The cooperative's activity is non-profit and not profit-oriented. The cooperative promotes the equalization of rents according to social criteria. The cooperative can participate in companies and organizations with the same or similar objectives. The cooperative limits its activity to the Zurich Unterland region.
