To provide the Swiss Bishops' Conference with suitable premises in a conveniently located area, ensuring a fixed and permanent seat, in order to facilitate contact with ecclesiastical and secular authorities, to provide optimal conditions and prerequisites for ecumenical contacts with other religious communities, and to enable the efficient handling of the necessary secretarial tasks. If the foundation purpose described above cannot be realized within fifteen years of the death of the founder, Bishop Hänggi, the foundation shall remain in existence, but with the purpose of promoting the cultural, church and liturgical history in connection with the Swiss dioceses, and in particular with the former and present Diocese of Basel.
