The purpose of the boat house cooperative is to establish and operate a communal boat house facility, in joint self-help for its members. The goal is to provide cooperative members with a hallen boat slip for their boat at affordable conditions. Exceptionally, cooperative spaces can be rented out by cooperative members under the conditions set by the general assembly and in accordance with the provisions specified by the board in the usage and management regulations. Outdoor boat slips are preferably rented out by the board to boat owners who reside in Obwalden. The cooperative is authorized to acquire, encumber, sell and manage real estate. Furthermore, the cooperative can conduct any business that is suitable to promote the achievement of the cooperative's purpose.
