The Foundation pursues its purpose in five areas of activity: (i) Research and higher education in the field of international law, including human rights. The Foundation supports and promotes research and teaching at universities and independent institutions in the field of international law, including human rights. It supports and promotes outstanding achievements in the education and study of international law, particularly through the financing of one or more professorships, the promotion of training or research projects and programs, as well as the awarding of prizes and scholarships to teachers, students, researchers and other individuals who are suitable to make significant contributions to the application and advancement of international law. (ii) Peace, global security and humanitarian international law. The Foundation supports and promotes projects and institutions that contribute to the preservation of peace and global security, as well as the application and advancement of humanitarian international law. It particularly supports efforts to protect the victims of armed conflicts. It also advocates for the idea of democracy, the rule of law, fundamental principles and an independent judiciary. (iii) Protection and safeguarding of water resources. The Foundation supports and promotes institutions, projects and the development of effective solutions for the protection of water resources and the safeguarding and improvement of access to water resources. (iv) Education and research in the fields of history, linguistics and etymology. The Foundation directly or indirectly supports and promotes education and research in the fields of history, linguistics and etymology. It does this particularly through the awarding of prizes, scholarships and the like to teachers, students and researchers. (v) Music, visual arts and culture. The Foundation supports and promotes research and care activities in the fields of classical music, visual arts and culture. It supports the promotion, dissemination and performance of classical music, particularly forgotten or rarely played works. It also supports efforts to improve art education, particularly in the field of visual arts. The above enumerations within the five areas of activity are not exhaustive. The Foundation is politically and denominationally neutral. It does not pursue commercial purposes nor does it strive for profit. It does not engage in activities from which the founders, members of the Foundation Board or management could directly or indirectly benefit.
