The purpose of the association is to promote the growth of the Chronicle ecosystem, to enable technical and operational development by commissioning contractors, to drive strategy, partnerships and governance, and to help develop legal, security and general best practices to support the Chronicle ecosystem. The association may conclude contracts, take necessary and suitable measures, plan and implement initiatives, and participate - also financially - in initiatives of other organizations or financially or otherwise support other organizations or individuals, to the extent that all these activities serve the purpose of the association. The association may develop, deploy and operate technologies and applications related to its purpose. The association may also accept donations from third parties and act as a trustee in pursuit of its purpose. The association does not pursue commercial purposes and does not aim to make a profit.
