The company pursues exclusively and permanently non-profit purposes in the sense of tax-exempt purposes of the Confederation and the Canton of Basel-Stadt, through services in the public interest in the field of promoting art and culture. The company may engage auxiliary persons to fulfill these purposes, if their activities are to be qualified as the company's own activities according to the actual circumstances and legal relationships. The purpose of the company is realized in particular through the promotion of museums and galleries, art halls and exhibitions for the benefit of the general public, through the loan of works of art and technical collection objects, provided that a transfer may only be made as long as the loaned objects are actually made accessible to a broad public for a certain period of time. Collection objects are preferably to be presented to the public and scientific institutions in Switzerland and its neighboring countries. The company operates selflessly and does not primarily pursue its own economic purposes.
