To promote the standardization of technical solutions in, and to develop and promulgate standards for, optical modules, optoelectronic devices and other relevant areas, while addressing the interconnection and interoperability testing of protocols and parameters, management protocols and specifications, in support of a wide range of applications in communication networks; to promote the development of optoelectronic products for communication networks as well as the launch of open, unified and compatible technologies and ecosystem components to support the healthy development of the optoelectronic industry.
