The International Commission of Jurists carries out activities at the global, regional, national and local levels, and takes effective measures to: 1. Support and promote the rule of law and human rights based on the fundamental principles enshrined in the preamble; 2. Promote the independence of the legal and judicial professions, as well as the administration of justice in accordance with international law standards; 3. Promote the adoption and implementation of international human rights standards, as well as other rules and principles of law that support human rights and the rule of law; 4. Contribute to the development and strengthening of a legal system that protects individuals and groups from human rights violations; 5. Promote understanding and respect for the rule of law, human rights, and provide assistance to those who are deprived of them; 6. Promote the abolition of the death penalty and support any initiative aimed at achieving this goal.
