The cooperative aims to provide its members with affordable housing, new or historic, through joint self-help and shared responsibility. It ensures the preservation and maintenance, as well as sensitive expansion, of locally grown settlement structures and historic buildings. The cooperative strives to offer housing for all sections of the population, especially families, people with disabilities, and the elderly. It can also provide spaces for commercial purposes. The cooperative promotes community living in the sense of overall social responsibility and mutual solidarity. It seeks to achieve this goal through careful and ongoing maintenance, as well as periodic renewal of existing buildings, and by supporting its members. The cooperative can participate in other companies with the same or similar purposes and can engage in all activities and conclude contracts that are related to the purpose of the cooperative and are suitable for promoting it, such as advising members and third parties on all matters, especially legal, related to construction and building. The cooperative can also acquire properties. In particular, it can also sanitize members in financial difficulties and take all necessary measures on their behalf. In these cases, a restructuring plan is agreed upon with the member. It operates a fund to support and restructure members and a support fund for members in retirement and issues the necessary regulations (Fund for Old-Age and Hardship Cases). The cooperative particularly cultivates the architectural and historical heritage of the Second Empire in France, especially through the acquisition and preservation of buildings, as well as through collections and publications. In addition, the cooperative aims to enable its members to participate in this society in the sense of a holding company and to receive the corresponding services. In return, the cooperative enables its members to participate in the management and financing of member companies at home and abroad, thereby reducing the costs of administration, financing, and business activity, strengthening purchasing power, and making the distribution of members' services more efficient and well-known. Members can therefore also delegate the aforementioned business activities to this cooperative contractually. The cooperative can participate in other companies with the same or similar purposes and can engage in all activities and conclude contracts that are related to the purpose of the cooperative and are suitable for promoting it. The cooperative is politically and denominationally neutral.
