The cooperative aims to provide and maintain affordable housing through joint self-help and shared responsibility. It strives to offer housing to all segments of the population, particularly families, couples, and individuals. It promotes community living in the sense of overall social responsibility and Christian principles. It seeks to achieve this purpose through: the acquisition of building land and building rights; the construction and acquisition of multi- and single-family homes; careful and ongoing maintenance as well as periodic renovation of existing buildings; the management and rental of apartments on a cost-rent basis; the construction of replacement new buildings when existing buildings can no longer be renovated in an economically justifiable manner; and the promotion of cooperative activities in the settlements. The cooperative's activities are non-profit and not profit-oriented. The cooperative can participate in companies and organizations with the same or similar objectives. It is a member of the Swiss Association for Housing (SVW).
