The foundation (umbrella foundation) aims to manage the Kunstmuseum Bern Foundation and the Zentrum Paul Klee - Maurice E. and Martha Müller Foundation (sub-foundations) in accordance with their respective statutes and regulations, with the goal of strategic and operational coordination of their activities. The (umbrella) foundation can also perform this task for other (sub-)foundations in the canton of Bern that support a cultural institution. The foundation (umbrella foundation) exercises an organ function in the managed foundations (sub-foundations). The board of the (umbrella) foundation assumes the responsibilities of the supreme foundation organ for these (sub-)foundations. The foundation (umbrella foundation) preserves the independence of the Kunstmuseum Bern Foundation and the Zentrum Paul Klee - Maurice E. and Martha Müller Foundation, in particular ensuring that public funding for the Kunstmuseum Bern Foundation and the Zentrum Paul Klee - Maurice E. and Martha Müller Foundation is provided separately. A transfer of assets and collections is excluded. The foundation (umbrella foundation) can conduct all business that is suitable for achieving its purpose. The foundation (umbrella foundation) has a non-profit character and does not pursue any commercial purposes. The profit and capital of the (umbrella) foundation are exclusively dedicated to the aforementioned purpose.
