The foundation exclusively pursues public-benefit purposes as follows: (a) Scientific purposes (i) Financing research projects in the fields of chemistry, biology, and technology (e.g. pharmacology, diagnostics, and cosmetics), both nationally and internationally; (ii) Supporting educational institutions in the fields of chemistry, biology, and technology, and awarding scholarships in this context; (iii) Supporting innovative companies in the fields of chemistry, biology, and technology; (b) Charitable purposes (i) Donations to recognized non-profit organizations that aim to support the needy, disabled, sick, elderly, and children; (ii) Supporting institutions in the field of animal welfare, particularly the preservation of hunting nationally and internationally; (c) Cultural purposes (i) Supporting museums and art foundations. The foundation may hold direct or indirect participations in companies in Switzerland and abroad to promote the foundation's purpose. The foundation operates on a non-profit basis, does not pursue commercial purposes, and does not strive for profit.
