The income from the foundation's assets serves to provide direct or indirect support to members of the Blumer family with citizenship of the municipality of Glarus Süd and with a residence in the canton of Glarus (beneficiaries). Support contributions or interest-free loans are primarily aimed at alleviating or eliminating unprovoked emergency situations. They consist of participating in costs to remedy the consequences of illness, accidents, natural disasters, and the like. Secondly, costs of vocational training or scientific work. Additionally, contributions, loans, or mortgages may be granted with the aim of securing livelihoods or maintaining quality of life (direct support). Exceptionally, public non-profit or private social institutions or projects may be supported with à-fonds-perdu contributions (no loans) if beneficiaries can also benefit from them (indirect support).
