The purpose of the foundation is to promote and support medical treatments for human diseases, in particular, but not exclusively, to support research and clinical projects of the Medical Department of the University of Basel, especially the Eye Clinic, to support Basel hospitals and/or their projects, to support natural persons with Swiss citizenship or who have another close connection to Switzerland and who are being treated in a Basel hospital and have special needs, provided that the necessity is proven and financial support is necessary, which cannot be borne by those affected themselves.
