The foundation aims to support individuals who, due to financial difficulties, would have to separate from their beloved pets, in order to avoid separation. The foundation can also provide contributions if the maintenance and care of a pet is not possible due to financial reasons. No contributions can be made towards the costs of acquiring a new pet. Furthermore, the foundation can financially support the temporary accommodation of pets whose owners are unable to care for them during a limited period, e.g. during a hospital stay or a stay abroad, but not during their holidays. The foundation can also provide contributions towards the costs of medical care for pets. Foundation services are limited to pets of all kinds (i.e. excluding projects for wild animals and livestock). The foundation aims to improve the existence and keeping of abandoned and neglected pets, for example - by supporting shelters and animal homes, emergency aid and animal shelters, - by providing contributions for the rehoming of stray pets, - by financially supporting vaccination and sterilization campaigns, e.g. on farms. No foundation services can be provided for - public relations campaigns or organizations that plan or carry out public relations campaigns - collections for the benefit of other organizations - movements that release or intend to release animals that are accustomed to captivity and would perish in a wider environment - organizations that unrealistically and extremely oppose experiments required by state licensing authorities, unless valid alternatives are available - organizations that only produce pamphlets without taking action or being able to take action, as well as associations, foundations and other organizations that do not publish an annual report that has been audited and approved by a recognized accounting firm - movements with unrealistic goals and undertakings outside the region of Northwestern Switzerland (see Article 3). When reviewing applications, the financial situation of the applicant must be taken into account; foundation services must not be provided if the applicant has sufficient means of their own. If, contrary to the expectations of the founders, not enough opportunities arise to provide support in accordance with the foundation's purpose, and as a result, larger unused amounts accumulate beyond the foundation's capital, the foundation board may allocate contributions to foundations and institutions that pursue similar goals.
