The cooperative aims to provide its members with healthy and affordable housing through joint self-help and shared responsibility. It strives to offer housing, in particular, to employees of SBB, Zentralbahn, Post, Swisscom, and the general federal administration. It promotes community living in the sense of overall social responsibility and mutual solidarity. It seeks to achieve this purpose by a) carefully maintaining and periodically renovating existing buildings; b) constructing replacement buildings when existing ones can no longer be renovated in an economically justifiable manner; c) utilizing financing from SBB in accordance with the guidelines for cooperative housing construction, as well as funding instruments under the federal housing promotion law or corresponding cantonal and communal laws; d) adjusting rent according to social criteria.
