The cooperative aims to provide its members with healthy and affordable housing that meets their housing needs, and to remove it from speculation. It strives to offer housing, particularly for employees of SBB, Post, Swisscom, and the general federal administration, as well as for other population groups, especially families, people with disabilities, and the elderly. It promotes coexistence in the sense of overall social responsibility and mutual solidarity. It seeks to achieve this purpose through the acquisition of building land and building rights, the construction and acquisition of single-family and multi-family homes that meet modern cooperative housing needs, careful and ongoing maintenance and periodic renovation of existing buildings, the construction of replacement new buildings when existing buildings can no longer be renovated in an economically justifiable manner, and the use of financing from SBB in accordance with the guidelines for cooperative housing construction, as well as funding instruments under the federal housing promotion law or corresponding cantonal and communal laws. The cooperative manages and rents out apartments on a cost-rent basis, adjusts the rent according to social criteria, and promotes cooperative activities in the settlements. It provides ideological and material support for efforts aimed at affordable, healthy, and good housing. The cooperative's activity is non-profit and not profit-oriented. The cooperative can participate in companies and organizations with the same or similar goals. It is a member of the Swiss Association for Housing SVW.
