The purpose of the association is to promote the competitiveness of traders and freelancers, as well as to improve economic structures. (1) The association is ideologically and politically neutral. It is not focused on generating profits and surpluses. Existing surpluses are used to promote the association's purposes, unless they must be allocated to necessary reserves in accordance with proper business management and are not distributed. (2) To represent the interests of entrepreneurs in Switzerland from all industries and professional groups vis-à-vis the public, politics, administration, trade unions, and all other social groups, and to give the economy a corresponding weight according to its importance for the national economy, and to achieve economic promotion of small, medium-sized, and large entrepreneurs in the Swiss and global economic space. (3) As a self-help organization of the economy, to inform, advise, and support members in a practical manner, and to promote cooperation and exchange of experience among entrepreneurs. (4) To make companies fit for global competition, particularly through innovations for sustainable economic activity, taking into account competitiveness, key technologies, and corresponding product development, as well as increased foreign economic presence of all company sizes. (5) To advocate for the creation and securing of jobs and to convey a positive image of companies and executives in the public eye. (6) To promote cooperation with educational, scientific, and research organizations, i.e., schools, universities, vocational training institutions, research institutions, and the medium-sized economy. (7) To promote and deepen economic relations between Switzerland, EU countries, and third countries. (8) To advise entrepreneurs based in Switzerland on economic opportunities in the global economic space, and conversely, to highlight economic opportunities for European and globally active companies, particularly to make investments in Switzerland. (9) To provide assistance and advice in the economic and organizational field, as well as to support the founding of companies and the mediation of contacts with domestic and foreign partners, and to represent them domestically and abroad. (10) The association promotes the solidarity of its members among themselves. (11) The purpose of the association is not focused on economic profit, but on the overall interest of its members, whom it represents. It is not authorized to exercise control over the business activities of its members. (12) The establishment of subsidiary associations is planned.
