The association promotes the positive development of dermatology and venereology in Europe through: Contributing to the improvement of the understanding of the structure and function of the skin; Strengthening and expanding scientific research in dermatology and venereology in Europe; Promoting the highest standards for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of skin diseases in private practices and hospitals; Improving the quality of education in the field of dermatology and venereology; Defining and regularly updating the core competencies of dermatologists and venereologists; Strengthening the importance of dermatology in the medical community, government forums, and society; Harmonizing, networking, and promoting the training, further education, and continuing education in dermatology and related fields in Europe. Advising and promoting communication between European dermatological organizations, patient organizations, industry, scientific departments, customer services, political decision-makers, and institutions, both in Europe and in countries cooperating with European institutions. To promote the aforementioned purposes, the association is authorized to take the following measures: Bringing together representatives of voluntary organizations, government agencies, political bodies, authorities, professional associations, companies, and individuals; Promoting and conducting research, surveys, and studies or supporting such research, surveys, and studies as well as publishing the results; Organizing and supporting exhibitions, meetings, lectures, seminars, training, and other events that are in line with the association's purpose; Collecting and disseminating the aforementioned information and exchanging this information with other entities pursuing similar goals, whether within or outside Europe; Supporting, financing, and disseminating guidelines, publications, and other reproductions (in all media) to promote the association's goals; Collecting donations and contributions from individuals, companies, and organizations, regardless of whether they are members or third parties; Taking all lawful measures necessary to achieve the statutory purpose. The association does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes and is non-profit. The association is politically and religiously neutral and commits to the principles of inclusivity, diversity, and equality.
