A non-profit scientific organization operating in the public interest in Europe, whose purpose is in particular: The Society aims to improve prevention, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of patients with Dry Eye and surface eye diseases associated with wetting disorders. The Society is scientifically oriented: education and research are intended to improve the professional and scientific skills of ophthalmologists. The Society supports clinical studies and training activities to generate scientific knowledge and disseminate it among members, patients and society in general. The working methods are based on scientific knowledge and consensus through exchange of opinions - also involving other specialties. The Society aims to become an international reference, opinion leader and source of knowledge on Dry Eye for patients and society in general. The purpose of the Society is: To stimulate exchange between ophthalmologists and scientists from different fields of knowledge to promote the progress of clinical eye science, continuous education and cooperation between different professional groups involved in the interests of the Society; To promote relations and exchange between societies and professional groups with an international orientation that pursue similar goals to the Society; To promote the organization of congresses and conferences in the field of medical and related sciences; To promote cooperation between professionals, associations, unions and associations in the healthcare sector as well as between these professionals regarding their work; To contribute to technical improvements and innovations regarding the quality of organization of activities in the field of medical education through scientific conferences and similar events; To promote knowledge, understanding and interdisciplinary cooperation between different professionals in this field; To protect and represent the interests of its members; To promote education, research and humanitarian aid in the field of ophthalmology; To promote communication and education in electronic form as the most efficient form of management, organizational and educational management, as well as scientific exchange related to the goals of the Society; To promote the relationship between the members of the Society and patient associations for Dry Eye.
