The foundation is committed to alleviating material hardship and promoting cultural participation among innocent people in need. In situations of widespread hardship in the population, it aims to act quickly and have a broad impact within its financial means. It can provide assistance directly or through cooperation with other organizations. It helps where the social state does not help. The foundation is active in Switzerland (principally in the canton of Bern) and in poor countries. Culturally, it is committed, preferably but not exclusively, to the field of music, including the promotion of professional young ensembles - throughout Switzerland - in the genres of classical and contemporary chamber music, whose work is focused on chamber music continuity, and which are distinguished by exceptional musical talent, strong stage presence, and suitability. This also includes promoting opportunities for performances and participation in established festivals and corresponding masterclasses. The foundation's profits and capital are dedicated exclusively to the aforementioned purpose. The foundation does not pursue any commercial purpose.
