The foundation's goal is to promote international understanding and improve societal conditions worldwide to enhance general and individual quality of life and peaceful coexistence across borders of origin, religious affiliation, ethnicity, and social status. To this end, the foundation supports (its own and external) programs and projects both domestically and abroad, particularly in the areas of humanitarian aid and cooperation, conflict management, and human rights protection. In the pursuit of achieving its objectives through the use of all suitable instruments, the foundation also promotes scientific research and supports think tanks that critically examine established perspectives and develop new ideas and concepts within the scope of the foundation's purpose. The foundation does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes and is neutral in terms of associations, politics, and religion.
