The association safeguards, supports and promotes European pedagogical heritage, academic independence and the values of independent education, before all regional, national, European or international authorities, institutions and organisations. It opposes any discrimination in independent education and supports the right of everyone to freely choose their paths and means of instruction and training. The association strives to contribute to the promotion of Europe, European culture and the excellence of its educational organisation, and to facilitate the knowledge and understanding of pedagogical, didactic and professional issues in Europe and other parts of the world. It stimulates the sharing of experiences and programmes. It promotes the mobility of teachers, educational leaders and learners. It encourages research on pedagogical content and frameworks, new professions, professional and educational issues and the debate of ideas. It publishes research works in these fields. It defines the quality criteria for independent education, training modalities and evaluation criteria, titles, certificates and diplomas, and undertakes all necessary steps to achieve their professional recognition at the international level. The Federation actively participates in the implementation and promotion of specific programmes related to its objectives, particularly in the pedagogical field. It refrains from any direct profit-making activity.
