The FIAS pursues the following main objectives: a) To develop and promote the sport of SAMBO worldwide; b) To organize international competitions and events, including the World Championships and the World Cup; c) To regulate the activities related to SAMBO carried out by the Member Associations and other organizations affiliated with the FIAS; d) To ensure strict compliance with the rules and regulations of the FIAS in all international SAMBO competitions, including Continental Championships, held under the supervision or auspices of the FIAS; e) To support, promote, encourage cooperation and mutual understanding, friendly relations and bonds of friendship between the Member Associations and athletes practicing SAMBO while respecting and protecting their interests; f) To select, train, develop and supervise SAMBO judges, referees, coaches, as well as technical and administrative staff; g) To represent and defend the interests of the sport of SAMBO within national and international Olympic committees, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and other international sports organizations and authorities; h) To resolve disputes and disagreements between its members and participants, within the framework of fair and equitable procedures; i) To oppose any discrimination based on race, sex, or religion, at any level; j) To assist Associations in gaining recognition by the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and/or the highest sports authorities of different countries and to gain recognition for the FIAS with the IOC. k) To respect and promote the Olympic principles set out in the Olympic Charter, the IOC Code of Conduct, and the World Anti-Doping Code (WADC); l) To promote the development of SAMBO for women and the full participation of women at all levels of SAMBO governance; m) To promote integrity, ethics, and fair play in order to prevent all methods or practices such as corruption, doping, or match-fixing that could compromise the integrity of the fights, competitions, athletes, officials, and member associations, or cause abuse of the SAMBO community; n) To respect, develop, and promote social inclusion through Paralympic sport.
