Finanzkontrolle des Kantons Nidwalden is the specialist body for financial supervision, carrying out audits of the cantonal administration including non-autonomous cantonal institutions with separate accounting and the administration of justice. It can also act as an audit/control body for organisations or companies when the canton delegates public tasks or provides financial support, and it supports the Landrat and Regierungsrat in their supervisory roles.
