The purpose of the Foundation is to facilitate the pursuit of professional or university studies or at Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) and, thereby, learning and/or acquiring a profession, by granting repayable loans on an honorary basis and/or scholarships and/or subsidies to students who meet the following criteria: the student applying for a loan is a boy or girl aged 16 to 35 at the time of application, and the student is either: of Iranian nationality; of Iranian origin and naturalized Swiss; from a municipality in the cantons of Geneva, Vaud, Fribourg, Neuchâtel, Valais, and Jura; of Swiss nationality born in Geneva or residing in Geneva for at least 10 years. It is specified that by 'professional studies' is meant apprenticeships carried out after compulsory schooling by attending courses at the Centre for Vocational, Technical, and Artisanal Education (CEPTA). It is also specified that the studies, in order for the student to benefit from a loan, must take place in a school located in the canton of Geneva, with the exception of the EPFL in Lausanne. The Foundation may also provide subsidies to finance publications of a cultural and academic nature. The Foundation's secondary purpose is to assist the population of Geneva in the event of disasters, to assist needy elderly people, and to assist cultural and educational institutions in Geneva. The Foundation does not pursue a profit-making purpose.
