Promote research in the medical and scientific fields, particularly by enabling the awarding of two annual prizes of a minimum amount of twenty-five thousand Swiss francs (CHF 25,000) or an amount equivalent to thirty or forty percent (30 or 40%) of the net income from the Foundation's capital, to two young researchers aged at least thirty years, in the medical and scientific fields. These prizes will reward a published and recognized work of international value with obvious scientific interest. Any faculty, any university institute, any university-level technical, scientific, or historical school in Switzerland may nominate a candidate for one of the annual prizes to the Foundation Council. The foundation is responsible for the maintenance of the tomb of the Berthouzoz couple. The foundation will have no religious character. It must have no denominational or political affiliation. All the foundation's services will be of a purely liberal nature, excluding any remuneration for work done.
