The foundation aims to create an archive, research and documentation center where all available elements of Anabaptist-Mennonite history are preserved, classified and made accessible to the public and researchers in the form of exhibitions, loans, meetings, conferences or other historical and cultural events: historical, social or political events, demography, economy, science and technology, literature, popular culture, fine arts, photography, music, etc. The foundation will strive to gather useful archive funds for its activity. Within the framework of its objectives, the foundation operates essentially throughout the territory of the canton of Bern. The foundation has a public utility character and does not pursue any lucrative purpose. The profit and capital of the foundation are exclusively dedicated to its objectives.
