The Foundation is non-profit. The Foundation pursues an educational and research mission. Its goals are to develop and promote a new model of humanistic higher education for more sustainable societies. This humanistic higher education transcends utilitarian objectives and facilitates the development of each individual's potential to live together sustainably, prioritizing well-being and dignity. This humanistic education is influenced by - and influences - three interacting structural dimensions: youth, organizations, and technological changes. Rooted in a local dynamic, i.e. having a global scope, but deeply integrating the aspirations and cultures of people at a given moment and in a given place (inclusivity), the Foundation aims to give young people around the world the means to develop the necessary potential to address what they consider to be the challenges of our time (cf. the concept of capabilities by philosopher Amartya Sen).
