The foundation aims to promote and strengthen the understanding of the links between humans and nature, particularly by promoting the observation and study of the natural environment and its evolution. It encourages and promotes knowledge of nature through the implementation of projects, including educational projects, and through active communication. Within the framework of its objectives, the foundation operates throughout the Swiss territory. The foundation may perform all acts related to its purpose, including: providing assistance and supporting any activity similar to its purpose; contracting loans and credits; soliciting and receiving public or private donations; having activities and establishments abroad; concluding useful agreements with public corporations or private organizations. The foundation has a purely public utility character; it is non-profit and does not aim to make a profit. Its profits can only increase its assets and its losses are covered only by its assets. The foundation's activity within the framework of its purpose may be specified in an internal regulation. The founder reserves the right to modify the purpose of the foundation under the conditions of Article 86a of the Swiss Civil Code. However, the modification of the foundation's purpose requires the approval of the majority of the members of the Foundation Council.
