ESSA will promote studies, applied research and realizations for the improvement of the quality of life, according to the guidelines indicated by Angelo Dalle Molle in his writings and summarized in his graph "Conceptual principles and categories of problems". The foundation will concretize the results in the construction of integrable model systems for the quality of life and will provide to complete such systems, according to the progress of knowledge and human and financial resources of which it will dispose, as well as to initiate their applications. The foundation will operate in the field of quality of life, with the primary intention of humanizing the production and use of goods and services in a social utility perspective. In all these activities, it will attribute maximum importance to the basic problem of information. The foundation will operate in continuous close organic collaboration with the Centro Studi della Barbariga, the Istituto Dalle Molle di Studi Semantici e Cognitivi (ISSCO), the Istituto Dalle Molle di Studi sull'Intelligenza Artificiale (IDSIA), the Fondation de l'Institut de recherche Idiap, formerly the Institut Dalle Molle d'Intelligence Artificielle Perceptive (Idiap) and the Centre de recherche Dalle Molle sur les Plantes Médicinales et Aromatiques (MEDIPLANT). It will seek collaboration with universities or cultural institutions, particularly for the creation of the necessary specialized research institutes. Finally, it will provide to maintain close contacts with international scientific environments and may, to this end, establish an international prize.
