The foundation aims to preserve, communicate and promote the Rhaetic cultural heritage, primarily in the Bergell region, particularly the aesthetic and ethical aspects against the historical background of the Three Leagues as the precursor to the canton of Grisons. The purpose of the foundation is concretized in this order of priority: preservation, conservation, expansion and exhibition of the art collection belonging to the foundation's assets or made available on loan by the founder. This art collection is to be made accessible to the general public in an institutional framework as the 'Salis Collection' in the Bergell region (Sottoporta). The art collection should be kept in its entirety as far as possible. Loans to museums are possible; care and enhancement of the visual arts, as well as promotion of the cultural and cultural-historical interests of the Rhaetic valleys, particularly the Bergell region. Within the framework of its purpose, the foundation cooperates with like-minded organizations. It can commit itself to the concerns covered by its purpose through exhibitions, training, project work, publications and in other suitable ways.
