The Foundation, inspired by the human figure of Federica Spitzer (1911-2002) and aimed at continuing her ideals, has the purpose of commemorating genocides, persecutions and totalitarian regimes and combating racism, promoting the value of freedom and understanding among different peoples, cultures and religions. The Foundation is the custodian of the Spitzer Fund, which brings together materials belonging to Federica Spitzer, documenting her deportation, refugee status and testimony. The Foundation manages the Fund in collaboration with academic and cultural institutions interested. The Foundation addresses the public and in particular young people and schools through: the awarding of prizes to individuals, associations or educational institutions that have distinguished themselves for initiatives in line with the Foundation's purposes; the organization of cultural events, exhibitions, demonstrations, scientific initiatives, multimedia communication; the dissemination of the Spitzer Fund documents and their availability for scientific research; the purchase of any unpublished documents concerning Federica Spitzer.
