In general, the Foundation pursues goals of human solidarity and social inclusion, both in Switzerland and abroad. The Foundation promotes, develops and supports medical-scientific research, both in Switzerland and abroad, by allocating funds to research projects conducted by qualified researchers, laboratories, clinics, hospitals, universities or entities specialized in medical-scientific research. The Foundation also promotes, develops and finances, in Switzerland or abroad, projects that have a positive impact on the socio-cultural well-being of individuals, such as cultural, educational or solidarity projects in favor of people who, due to illnesses, socio-cultural conditions or other causes, live in a situation of physical, psychological or social isolation. To achieve its goals, the Foundation may receive donations from third parties, make donations to entities or individuals within its scope, organize fundraising campaigns, participate in or organize events to raise public awareness, offer scholarships to researchers and students, enter into agreements and conventions with other foundations, entities, national or international institutions that pursue similar goals, as well as finance concrete and existing projects of these entities or projects developed or promoted by the Foundation itself. All entities with which the Foundation collaborates or enters into agreements must be exempt from taxation. The Foundation may also perform any other act that is instrumental in achieving its goals, including the purchase and sale of real estate, the incorporation of other legal entities, and the acquisition or transfer of participation in other entities, in Switzerland and abroad, whose acquisition or transfer is considered strategic by the Foundation itself.
