The Foundation's purpose is to manage, directly or through third-party professionals, both in Switzerland and abroad, the promotion of education, training, and technological development in the digital sector, through research in the digital ecosystem, as well as through initiatives to support research, awareness, implementation, and dissemination related to blockchain technology. The Foundation may also dedicate itself to financing and research in the field of Artificial Intelligence, with particular attention to the development of this technology in the medical field. It is specified that the Foundation's activity is aimed at contributing to the growth of knowledge, technological progress, and social well-being, and if necessary, adapting over time to the new needs of human society, for which there will be a constant commitment to exploring and addressing various social support issues for the benefit of humanity, with the aim of generating a positive general impact that can contribute to the growth of knowledge, technological progress, and therefore more generally to social well-being. All of the above will be carried out both at the national and international level, i.e., both on Swiss territory and abroad, and may include, in particular, the following activities: developing and using technological solutions to contribute to a better future, making life healthier, fairer, more sustainable, and more prosperous for future society; supporting research projects in the field of advanced technologies aimed at improving the quality of social life, with particular attention to their public utility and collective benefit; facilitating the understanding and correct use of digital technologies, including the management of digital currencies; promoting training and education programs in collaboration with Swiss and foreign universities; supporting targeted awareness-raising activities to attract and develop a center of excellence in the digital sector; exploring and addressing various social support issues, adapting to changing social challenges over time; investing in research and funding for Artificial Intelligence, focusing efforts on its technological and social application to improve the quality of human life; promoting collaboration and cooperation within the entire digital sector, both nationally and internationally, through the establishment and activity of additional entities under the Foundation in various countries around the world; awarding university scholarships to deserving individuals in the technological field. The Foundation pursues public utility objectives and therefore has no profit motive, and the recipients of the devolutions will be non-profit entities and for the benefit of tax exemption, reserved direct allocations to other subjects that fall within the scope of the social purpose (e.g., students and researchers benefiting from scholarships or research, in the form of repayable or non-repayable contributions). The Foundation manages its assets with the aim of generating profits to be allocated to its activities, as well as strives to encourage and collect donations from public and private sources. The Foundation may confer mandates and contracts and hire employees on a paid basis to achieve its purposes.
