The foundation supports the population of the southern flank of the Simplon Pass, particularly the municipality of Trasquera, with the aim of preserving the centuries-old alpine culture and improving local employment opportunities, thereby counteracting emigration. This is intended to preserve the civilizational foundations along the important Alpine transversal of the Simplon Pass in the interest of Switzerland and Italy. This is to be achieved through: supporting disadvantaged people, especially in alpine agriculture; preserving the typical civilizational heritage of the Simplon region, including culturally important buildings and trail facilities used by shepherds and villagers; promoting young people and adults through sporting events, educational projects, and assistance with local projects; implementing nature conservation projects. The aforementioned goals are achieved through: financing projects; providing information, training, and organizing workshops and volunteer work assignments; providing financial guarantees, sureties, loans, one-time or permanent contributions for individuals or groups.
