The Foundation aims to conserve, promote and enhance the works of the artist Gunter Böhmer, painter and illustrator, which have a particular reference to Montagnola and the Collina d'Oro, where the artist lived and worked from 1933 until his death. In particular, the Foundation: undertakes to catalogue the artistic heritage donated to the Foundation; provides for the conservation, care and exhibition, if possible permanent, of the works in a suitable location in the territory of the Collina d'Oro; undertakes to promote the work of Gunter Böhmer, notably by organizing exhibitions, fostering cultural exchanges with other institutions or organizations that pursue similar goals, opening the collection to scientific studies and organizing events aimed at promoting knowledge of the artistic and cultural environment in which the artist worked; has the power to lend works by the artist Gunter Böhmer to foreign and Swiss museums, particularly those in Ticino, and to grant loans for temporary exhibitions. The Foundation pursues objectives of public utility and therefore operates without profit. The Foundation is secular, apolitical and non-denominational. The Foundation has unlimited duration.
