The foundation is a non-profit organization with no commercial purpose and does not aim to make a profit. Its purpose is to provide non-profit care for socially disadvantaged, elderly, disabled or needy people through support in the areas of health, education and innovation, as well as the promotion and support of social, educational or medical institutions that are based in Switzerland and are tax-exempt here or have their seat in developing or emerging countries. The foundation promotes projects in Switzerland and abroad, provided there is a connection to Switzerland, in the areas of charity, health, education and innovation. Charity includes health-related, educational and environmentally related projects. The health sector can include humanitarian projects, research projects as well as innovations in the health sector. The education sector includes both global and local humanitarian as well as innovative and entrepreneurial education projects. Innovative projects from all scientific disciplines fall under the innovation sector. The foundation may, beyond its actual purpose, generally make contributions to third-party organizations that are tax-exempt in Switzerland. The founder reserves the right to change the purpose in accordance with Article 86a of the Swiss Civil Code.
