The association promotes the conservation, breeding and dissemination of the purebred Akhal-Teke thoroughbred horse while preserving its breed-typical characteristics. The association supports and coordinates the interests of its members and represents them in public, with national and international associations and authorities. To fulfill its purpose, the association assumes, among other tasks, the following responsibilities: it ensures the management of an Akhal-Teke studbook; it supports the breeding of Akhal-Teke horses; it informs members and the public in a suitable manner about all matters related to the Akhal-Teke thoroughbred breed. The association pursues idealistic goals and does not operate a profit-oriented business managed in a commercial manner (Swiss Civil Code Art. 61, 2).
